This blog, featuring 100 days of facts about the history of special education, is being published to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of The Council for Exceptional Children. The Council for Exceptional Children is the largest professional organization working to create equality in educational outcomes for students with exceptionalities.
Vision
NJCEC strives to create a community of professionals that have the proper knowledge and tools to help all students succeed. The 100 day project is being created as part of this goal.
Mission
The mission of this project is to create a greater awareness and understanding surrounding the origins of special education. Through the 100 day project readers will gain knowledge surrounding how our policies and practices have changed, leading to our current educational and societal situation surrounding special education and individuals with exceptionalities.
Ramapo College of New Jersey Honors Program
The Ramapo College Honors Program is a community of faculty and students dedicated to excellence through an enhanced curriculum. This project is being completed by Ramapo Honors student, Allie Cheff, as part of her Senior Project.
