Day 13 - Horace Mann and the Common School

Horace Mann enacted a major education reform in the United States through the creation of the common school. Mann argued that every child should have access to a basic education funded by local taxes. His ideas regarding education and the common school are the first forms of public education in the United States resembling modern day public schools and access to education.
