Day 14 - Wyatt v. Stickney

Today, October 23rd, marks the day that the Wyatt v. Stickney lawsuit was filed in the year 1970. This case ruled that people who are involuntarily committed to state institutions because of mental illness of other disabilities have the right to treatment that will give them a real opportunity to exit the institution and return to society. The case created minimum standards of care for people with mental illness and developmental disabilities.
