Parents and other concerned people began to form groups during the 1940s to address the issue of inequality in education for students with cerebral palsy. The Cerebral Palsy League began as one of these small groups and in New Jersey and grew to create the Myrtle Garbe Treatment Center. This center provided a day program for children with cerebral Palsy. The Cerebral Palsy League has expanded over the years to provide services and programs to help people with disabilities reach their full potential.
