Day 31 - P.L. 87-276 Teachers of the Deaf Act

Public Law 87-276 was enacted at the federal level in 1961. This act was passed to provide specially trained teachers to students who were deaf or hard of hearing. The act allowed the Commissioner of Education to provide grants to institutions of higher education that were approved as training centers for teachers of the deaf.
