Day 58 - The State Facilities Education Act of 1979

The State Facilities Education Act of 1979 was adopted in the state of New Jersey. The act was concerned with assigning the responsibility of educating students with disabilities. This act identified that the it is the responsibility of the school district in which a student resides to provide a proper education for that student. If the the school district itself is not capable of meeting the needs of the student they are then responsible for costs related to sending the student out of district to another public school or a private school as is fit.
