Day 80 Publication of The Red Book

What Every Special Educator Must Know: The International Standards for the Preparation and Certification of Special Education Teachers, also referred to as “The Red Book,” was published in 1995. This document put forth standards for the preparation of special educators as well as standards related to the Code of Ethics, information about certification in different states and provinces as well as standards for knowledge and skills for all beginning special education teachers. This document was written and published by the Council for Exceptional Children.
