Day 96 - Every Student Succeeds Act

The Every Student Succeeds Act was signed into law in 2015. The act reauthorized and replaced No Child Left Behind - the 2002 reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. ESSA protects disadvantaged and high-needs students and requires that all students be taught to high standards that prepare them for college and careers. Additionally, the act focuses on creating positive change in low-performing schools.
