Day 17 - Maria Montessori

Maria Montessori was an Italian physician and educator who questioned the methods of teaching children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. . Montessori aimed to educate children with disabilities through the creation of a teaching method based on giving children hands-on learning experiences by offering a variety of activities and allowing the children to choose what to do. Her method soon developed into a mainstream teaching strategy with the establishment and continued success of Montessori Schools around the globe.
